Introduction
SecurityGuard is a personal security app for Android devices. This policy describes how user data is collected, used, and protected.
SecurityGuard was designed to be used exclusively by the device owner on their own cell phone, with their full knowledge and consent.
Data collected by the app
SecurityGuard accesses the following device data Only when a failed unlock attempt is detected:
- Photos: Device front and rear camera capture
- Audio: 1-minute recording using the microphone
- GPS Location: Geographical position of the device at the time
- Device Information: Manufacturer name and model
How Data Is Used
The captured data is used exclusively for:
- Be stored in the Google Drive of the user himself
- Send to User-configured email
No third parties, Just your Drive and your email for added privacy.
Storage and security
- SecurityGuard It does NOT store data on its own servers
- The data goes directly to the User’s Google Drive
- SecurityGuard It does NOT share data with third parties
- Access to Drive and Gmail is through Google’s OAuth2, the safest standard
- Temporary files are deleted from the device after uploaded to Drive
- The developer does not store, view or access any data. Everything remains in the user’s own Google Drive and Gmail
Required Permits
- Camera: To capture photos when detecting unlock attempts
- Microphone: For 1-minute audio recording
- Location: To record the GPS position of the device
- Device Manager: To detect failed attempts to unlock
- Internet: To upload files to Google Drive and send emails
- Google Drive and Gmail: By user OAuth2 authorization
- The app uses the scopes
drive.file(it only accesses files created by the app itself, not the rest of the Drive) andgmail.send(it only sends mails, it does not read the inbox
User rights
The user has the right to:
- Revoke app permissions at any time from device settings
- Delete the files stored in your Google Drive
- Uninstall the app at any time
- Disable device administrator permissions
Ethical and Legal Use
SecurityGuard is designed to be installed only on the user’s own device. Installing it on third-party devices without their consent may be illegal in many jurisdictions and is against the terms of use of this application.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, and changes will be notified through an app update in the Google Play Store.
